China's production and sales of new energy vehicles continued to achieve high growth
The latest data shows that from January to October 2025, my country's automobile production and sales reached 27.692 million and 27.687 million units respectively, both representing year-on-year growth of over 10%. Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 13.015 million and 12.943 million units respectively, representing year-on-year growth of 33.1% and 32.7%.
Notably, in October, monthly sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 50% of total new vehicle sales for the first time, reaching 51.6%. Regarding exports, from January to October 2025, exports of new energy vehicles reached 2.014 million units, a year-on-year increase of 90.4%.
Chen Shihua, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), introduced that since 2025, new energy vehicles have continued to achieve high growth. This is due to two main factors: firstly, the continued effectiveness of the domestic vehicle trade-in subsidy policy, which is substantial and widely beneficial, has driven the high growth of the new energy vehicle market; secondly, the halving of the purchase tax on new energy vehicles in 2026 has led to some consumers purchasing vehicles in advance, ushering in a new consumption peak in the new energy vehicle market.
Experts also stated that since 2025, the continuous enrichment of new product supply from Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturers, the continuous upgrading of product technology, and the continuous improvement of the energy replenishment system have also jointly contributed to the high growth of the new energy vehicle market.

Several automakers achieved record-breaking deliveries of new energy vehicles in October.
According to reports, several automakers broke their own records for new energy vehicle deliveries in October. Production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.772 million and 1.715 million units respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 21.1% and 20%.
Chen Shihua stated that in October, automakers seized the opportunity presented by the year-end policy transition, launching new products in rapid succession and maintaining a fast pace of production and supply. Simultaneously, some consumers purchased vehicles ahead of schedule, leading to a new consumption peak in the market. It is expected that the market will remain highly active in the last two months of 2025.
